The BAFE DS301 competency scheme was introduced to provide third-party certification of contractors of Grade D fire detection and fire alarm systems in domestic premises to enhance standards and confidence in the sector.

In this session Frank Bertie, Chief Technical Officer for NAPIT, will discuss the BAFE DS301 competency scheme and how contractors can achieve this third-party certification.

The session will also be useful for new build developers and the housing sector in general to understand why third-party certification of competence should be a core requirement in their specifications for contractors installing domestic fire safety systems.
