Director and Head of Pensions
Peter Culnane is Director and Head of Pensions for Fairway’s pension and employee benefits business and has been working in the offshore finance industry since 1997. Throughout his career, he has accumulated substantial experience within the UK, Jersey and international pension arenas. His background in investment management, international financial planning and as a pension trustee are the ideal foundations to his leading role. Peter’s expertise spans the personal and corporate pension markets, including the structuring of multi-jurisdictional pension schemes and international pension transfers. In 2003, Peter became the first Certified Financial Planner in the Channel Islands and he has also represented both the domestic and international pension industry in Jersey, as a key member of numerous working groups responsible for advising the States of Jersey in relation to legislative change. Peter is a Fellow of the Securities & Investments Institute, an Associate of the Institute of Financial Planning, a Member of the Institute of Directors and is a Certified Financial Planner.

Zurich International Life
Walter Jopp is Chief Executive Officer for Zurich Middle East. His role is responsible for developing and executing Zurich’s strategy in the region, enhancing the value of Zurich’s strategic partnerships and identifying opportunities for further profitable growth. In his career at Zurich which has spanned over 24 years, Walter has held several senior roles within Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East these have included developing key bank relationships at a global level, international business in Latin America & Scandinavia. Global Head of Sales for Zurich’s International business where he led the sales operation for individual and corporate businesses with teams in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia. Until October 2015 he led the Market Management for Zurich in Asia Pacific and Middle East, overseeing sales, marketing and propositions in the region.

David graduated in Law in 1980 and subsequently joined Times Newspapers. He then worked in the advertising industry in London before joining Swiss Life UK as Marketing Director in 1992. David then set up Swiss life's UK Personal Insurance division. In 2002 he joined the Royal London Group as Group Business Development Director and in January 2004 became Chief Executive of the international division, subsequently known as RL360 following the MBO in November 2013.

In his role as Head of Insurance and Pensions, within the Finance Agency, part of the Isle of Man Government’s Department for Enterprise , Simon Pickering will call upon his 35 years of experience in the Island’s financial services industry. A key part of that role is to support the existing businesses in the Life, Captive, Pensions, Funds and Wealth and Financial Advisory sectors.
Acting as a conduit between these traditional sectors and wider Government he will look for opportunities for growth through marketing, new initiatives, and media opportunities both locally and internationally. He will also look to assist any new licence holders looking to make the Island their home.

Tarun Khanna has been with Nexus since January 2007. He was appointed Deputy CEO in early 2010, and was appointed CEO in mid 2013. Tarun has extensive experience in financial services having spent 25 years in money management and investment banking. He started his career at Merrill Lynch in New York in 1990 in the investment banking group and has worked with Morgan Stanley, Lazard Asset Management, Wellington Management and Copper Arch Capital, a New York based Hedge Fund.
Tarun received an MBA from the Wharton School of Finance and an undergraduate degree from Muskingum College (Honours) with focus on Economics and Accounting in 1990. He also studied at the American University in Paris in 1989. Tarun is a high school graduate of the Doon School in India.
Robert Parker is CEO of Holborn Assets and is one of the industry’s best known best-known and most forthright commentators. It is rare that Robert (or Bob as many people in the industry know him as) takes part in industry events and panels so International Investment is delighted to have him as part of adviser’s panel of this year’s Middle East Forum. Bob was recently voted Perosnality of the Year (Advisers) at the 2020 International Investment Awards on October 8, by a mix of judges the reasders of International Investment.
Tim has lived and worked in the Middle East for over eighteen years following a distinguished career in the Royal Navy. He established Globaleye in 1999 to meet the demands of the modern Financial Services industry, whilst fully appreciating the complexities of Financial Planning for all nationalities. In 2008, Globaleye Pte Ltd in Singapore was formed with Tim at its helm as CEO, alongside his role as Chairman of the Globaleye Group. As CEO, Tim has over twenty years of experience in providing quality offshore financial advice.

David is head of multi-asset investments and joined Rathbones in 2007. He is a member of the Investment Executive Committee as well as the Strategic Asset Allocation Committee. David is responsible for developing our investment propositions for national financial advisory firms and networks. He is the lead manager for the Rathbones Multi-Asset Portfolio Funds and the offshore Luxembourg-based Sicavs. David previously worked at Barings for almost 20 years where he managed institutional and private clients via pooled vehicles and segregated accounts. He joined Barings in 1988 from Hambros, where he managed multi-manager portfolios for private clients.

Gary Robinson is Commercial Director at International Investment. Previously Deputy Editor and Head of Video and Ezines at International Investment, Gary now heads the commercial side of the operation. He also continues as head of video working closely with the editorial team and is well-known for his video interviews both editorially and commercially across the industry.
Gary was also previously a financial adviser, headed a Lake District TV channel and a Manchester United Fans TV Channel online and on SKY TV and has worked as a journalist for Financial Times Business, The Daily Express and Professional Adviser among others.
